Is Technology Making Us Handicapped?

Today if we look around, technology has taken most of the part of our life. From the time when we wake up till the time we are back to bed, we are all dependent on technology. Our day starts with technology and works according to the technology. Especially during this time of the pandemic, everything is revolving around technology. From the online classes of the kids to work from home facility for the adults to entertainment through technology for old ages, everything is technology.

many cbse schools in Dehradun said this is an era of technology, and it is not surprising to see technology making its own space. Working for technology and working with technology is developed to make human labor simplified and less stressful. Artificial learning, machine learning, and IoT is the present and future of technology. The innovations and advancements are still taking place to fulfill every particular need of human beings. It is helping our household chores and also in the industry, for personal needs, and for professional functioning. Robots are being discovered who can act, think, and talk like humans with more functionality (skills), efficiency, and power.

Technology is not actually making us handicap but is surely making humans dependent. It is somehow making humans handicap. As previously, our ancestors had more average human age and more strength because of immense physical work and mental exercise. They used to work so hard physically and to simplify the labor. They use their presence of mind. With this mental exercise, they created wheels to carts to machines to artificial intelligence. They were more knowledgeable and focused on their education. They received their education in the boarding schools in Dehradun, where they were taught multi-directional knowledge. They have worked and learned strong morals, different sciences, and had better mental and physical health.

Today the machines have reduced our physical work and exercise. This was earlier done while performing the daily works and operations. Therefore, today's generation is week inside out. The internal organ functioning is disturbed that causes physical strain and pain while performing tasks without technology. The human body is not a machine because of the sense of emotions and stimuli, but its functioning and working are quite similar to machines. If the machine is regularly used efficiently, then the working becomes smooth, but if the machine isn't called off to do its task, the metal of the machine starts eating up (gets rust), and the workability decreases with a phase of time. The human's abilities extend or expand with the amount of work practicing.

But through technology, we have discovered machines and applications to perform all kinds of tasks, and now humans have lost their physical strengths compared to the humans living decades ago where there were no automated machines.

Technology was basically built to have helping hands for the humans that can work as per the human demands. But today, the way technology is expanding itself is making humans handicap. Humans are unable to work without it, not just the professionals but also everyday workers. We are creating technology smarter and humans dumber. Technology contains a vast knowledge of every field, whereas humans are shrinking their intelligence; as with technology, we find the exact thing we want, which is why we do not attain information kept sideways.

Earlier, to find something, books were used, or the elderly people were considered through which we acquire multi-dimensional information with which we use certain required information, but our brain captures most of it. So books are vast resources, the same as the internet (technology), but books work in the concept of multiple sharing whereas technology makes it crisp and short. Technology makes it time-efficient and makes humans passive.
